Decanter and airpot, one chassis

Fast Newco NKT Combo repair for Toronto and the GTA.

An NKT Combo down means either the decanter side or the airpot side has quit, and they fail differently. We repair both: warmer plates and brew valves on the decanter station, dispense seals and worn pump diaphragms on the airpot. Tell us which side is misbehaving and we bring the right kit to put it back in service.

The NKT Combo.

The Newco NKT Combo pairs a decanter station with an airpot station in one chassis. It suits operators who want warmer-plate service for the front-of-house pot and sealed airpot service for coffee that travels. From the bench that means two different wear stories under one lid: a warmer, decanter, and brew valve on one side, and a dispense pump, seals, and vacuum airpot on the other.

NKT Combo faults we diagnose

Common NKT Combo faults, decanter side and airpot.

These are the NKT Combo faults we see in the field, split across the decanter and airpot sides, each with what causes it and how we resolve it.

Brew system & pressure 2 issues
!

Sprayhead scaled on one or both stations

We descale each head and confirm an even spray pattern on both.

!

Brew valve fault one station

The coil or diaphragm has failed. We isolate the station and replace the valve.

Water, boiler & heating 5 issues
!

Tank recovery slow

Element scale is slowing recovery. We descale and replace the element if it is degraded.

!

Refill slow

The inlet valve or level probe is lagging. We test both and replace whichever is at fault.

!

Warmer plate fault on decanter side

The element or switch on the decanter side has failed. We test and replace the dead part.

!

Basket overflow

A grind or filter mismatch. We check both and adjust to spec.

!

Scale

Hard water builds scale fast. We descale and suggest upstream softening to stretch the interval.

Electronics, grinder & other 8 issues
!

Drip at standby

Leak-by at the valve. We replace the seal.

!

Decanter cracked

A field swap. We fit a new decanter.

!

Airpot losing temperature

The seal on the airpot's dispense valve has worn. We fit a new seal kit, and if the vacuum chamber itself is breached it isn't worth repairing, so we quote a replacement.

!

Thermostat drift

The sensor has drifted. We compare it and replace if needed.

!

Lockout on

The tank is below setpoint. We check the element and thermostat and let it heat.

!

Brew stalls

A restriction or a sticking valve on that side. We trace it and clear or replace as needed.

!

Airpot pump stiff or stuck

The pump diaphragm has worn. We service the pump and fit a fresh kit.

!

Level probe erratic

Scale on the probe is throwing the readings. We descale it, recheck, and replace if it is still erratic.

FAQ

Newco NKT Combo, frequently asked.

20 answers covering service, repair, parts, installation, warranty, and edge cases.

Updated August 2026

The airpot side of my NKT Combo is losing heat. What is wrong?

The dispense valve seal on the airpot has worn, or the vacuum chamber itself has been breached. We fit a new seal kit first; if the vacuum is gone, the pot is not worth repairing and we quote a replacement.

The airpot pump on the NKT Combo is stiff or stuck. Can you service it?

Yes. The pump diaphragm wears with use. We service the pump and fit a fresh kit so it primes and dispenses cleanly again.

The decanter side stopped brewing but the airpot side works. Why?

They share a tank but have separate brew valves and warmers, so a fault usually sits on one station. We isolate the decanter side, find the failed valve or warmer component, and replace it.

Why does the decanter side scorch coffee on the NKT Combo?

A seized warmer thermostat is holding that plate full-on. We replace the thermostat before it ruins another pot.

Both sides on my NKT Combo brew weak. Is it the tank?

More likely scale, on both sprayheads and on the element. We descale the tank, clear both heads, and replace the element only if recovery does not come back.

How is servicing an NKT Combo different from a plain decanter brewer?

It adds the airpot side, so we look after a dispense pump, dispense seals, and a vacuum chamber on top of the usual sprayhead, valve, warmer, and decanter. Two hold methods, one visit.

Is the NKT Combo worth repairing as it ages?

Yes. Both stations run on inexpensive, available parts, and the airpot is itself replaceable, so almost everything that fails is a straightforward swap rather than a write-off.

What NKT Combo parts do you carry?

Sprayheads, brew valves, the warmer element, a decanter, and airpot pump and seal kits. That handles the common decanter-side and airpot-side faults in a single trip.

How much does a repair visit cost?

Flat rate for the visit, parts billed at their actual cost on top. You'll hear the rate when you book, and for bigger jobs we quote in writing on-site before any work starts. No estimate that balloons mid-job.

How fast can you get here?

Same-day. Call in the morning and a technician is usually on-site before the day is out; calls placed later in the day book for the next morning. Urgent breakdowns get priority routing.

Which areas do you cover?

The GTA and most of the Golden Horseshoe: Toronto through Mississauga, Vaughan, and Markham, out to Oshawa, Hamilton, and Niagara. If you're not sure you're in range, call and we'll tell you straight.

Do I need a service contract?

No. We work call by call. Plenty of customers put us on a maintenance schedule eventually, but that's their choice after seeing the work, never a requirement.

Are the repairs warrantied?

Parts carry their manufacturer warranty, and we stand behind our labour: if the same fault recurs, call us and we'll review it. Specific terms are discussed upfront on each job, not promised in marketing copy.

Do you repair on-site or take the machine away?

On-site whenever possible, which is most of the time. If a job genuinely needs the bench, like a full boiler rebuild or major electronics work, we'll say so before anything leaves your building.

How do I book a service call?

Call us or send the form on this page. We confirm the machine, the fault, and a time window the same day. If it's urgent, say so and we'll route the nearest technician.

What happens on the first visit?

Diagnosis first: we confirm the fault, tell you what caused it, and quote the fix before touching a wrench. Most repairs finish in that same visit because the common wear parts ride on the truck.

Do you carry parts or order them in?

High-wear parts for the platforms we service constantly ride on the truck. Anything else we order, usually next-day where suppliers allow, and we tell you the lead time before committing you to anything.

My machine is older or out of production. Will you still look at it?

Usually, yes. We service legacy machines for as long as parts can be sourced, and we're honest when a repair stops making financial sense against a replacement. You get the math, you make the call.

Are you cheaper than the manufacturer's service network?

Often, but that's not the pitch. We quote against the actual work, not a factory pricing book, and we'll tell you when a manufacturer warranty claim is the better route. Transparency is the value; the price usually follows.

Can you train our staff so this doesn't happen again?

Yes, and we do it by default on the way out. Half of repeat faults trace back to skipped daily cleaning or wrong routine, so the technician walks your team through what actually matters before leaving.
