Two stations, both down?

Fast Newco NKT Twin repair for Toronto and the GTA.

When an NKT Twin slows down, it is usually the shared tank struggling to keep both stations pouring back to back, or the busier sprayhead scaling ahead of the other. We repair the lot: per-station brew valves, warmers, and the recovery problems that only show under double load. Give us the symptom and we arrive with the parts.

Newco · Twin-decanter pour-over brewer

The NKT Twin.

The Newco NKT Twin runs two decanter stations from a single shared hot-water tank. That shared tank is the whole character of the machine: it keeps the footprint down, but it also means back-to-back brewing leans hard on one element's recovery. The busier station scales its sprayhead first, and the two warmers and brew valves wear at their own pace, so a twin tends to age unevenly from side to side.

NKT Twin faults we diagnose

What goes wrong on the NKT Twin, and our fix.

Below are the NKT Twin faults we meet most on service calls, the ones the shared tank and twin stations tend to throw, with cause and fix for each.

Brew system & pressure 3 issues
!

One sprayhead scaled faster than the other

On a twin, the busier station scales ahead of the other. We descale both heads and check the spray pattern on each before signing off.

!

One brew valve fault

The coil or diaphragm on that station's valve has gone. We isolate the side and replace the valve.

!

Standby drip from one sprayhead

That valve is leaking by and dripping at standby. We replace the valve seal.

Water, boiler & heating 6 issues
!

Shared tank can't keep up with back-to-back brewing

The single shared tank is recovering slowly, usually from element scale or weak supply pressure. We descale, check the feed pressure, and replace the element if it has lost output.

!

Tank not filling

The inlet valve isn't passing water. We test it and replace it if it won't seat.

!

One warmer plate not heating

The element or switch on that one station has failed. We test both and replace the dead component.

!

Warmer scorching coffee

A seized thermostat is holding that warmer full-on. We replace it.

!

Basket overflow one side

Grind or filter is mismatched on that station. We check it and dial it back to spec.

!

Scale buildup

Hard water builds scale fast. We descale and suggest upstream softening to stretch the interval.

Electronics, grinder & other 6 issues
!

Decanter cracked

A field swap. We fit a new decanter.

!

Thermostat drift

The sensor has drifted with age. We compare it to a reference and replace it if needed.

!

Brew lockout on

That tank is below setpoint. We verify the element and thermostat and let it come up to temperature.

!

Cross-station brew triggering

A switch or relay is crossing the wires between stations. We isolate the fault and repair or replace it.

!

Brew stalls one side

A restriction or a sticking valve on that side. We trace it and clear or replace as needed.

!

Steam venting excessively from tank top

A blocked vent, or a thermostat setpoint sitting too high. We clear the vent and reset the setpoint.

Don't see your issue? Call (289) 217-3796 with a description of what's happening and any error codes on screen. We'll likely diagnose it before we arrive. And if the same fault keeps returning, that's scale at work. The right Newco water filter ends the repeat visits.

FAQ

Updated August 2026

Why can't my NKT Twin keep up during the rush?

The single shared tank is the bottleneck. Back-to-back brewing on both stations outruns one element's recovery, and scale makes it worse. We descale, check the supply pressure feeding the tank, and replace the element if it has lost output.

One station on my NKT Twin brews weaker than the other. Why?

The busier side scales its sprayhead faster, so its spray pattern degrades first. We descale both heads and verify an even pattern on each, since matching the two stations is the whole point of a twin.

Only one warmer on the NKT Twin has stopped heating. Can you fix just that one?

Yes. Each station has its own warmer element and switch, so we test that side and replace whichever has failed without touching the working station.

One sprayhead drips at standby. What causes that?

That station's brew valve is leaking by. We replace the valve seal on the affected side, which stops the drip without disturbing the other station.

Both stations sometimes trigger together on the NKT Twin. Is that a wiring fault?

Usually a switch or relay crossing the two stations. We isolate the fault and repair or replace it so each station only brews when it is told to.

How often does an NKT Twin need descaling versus a single?

More often on the busy side. The shared tank works harder, so on hard water we often set a two to three month interval and watch the busier station. A softening cartridge upstream evens out the wear.

Is the NKT Twin worth repairing if one side keeps failing?

Yes. The two stations share a tank but have their own valves, warmers, and heads, so a repeat fault on one side is a cheap per-station fix, not a reason to replace the machine.

What NKT Twin parts do you bring to a call?

Sprayheads, per-station brew valves, warmer elements and switches, the inlet valve, and thermostats. That covers most NKT Twin faults in one visit, whichever station is acting up.

How much does a repair visit cost?

Flat rate for the visit, parts billed at their actual cost on top. You'll hear the rate when you book, and for bigger jobs we quote in writing on-site before any work starts. No estimate that balloons mid-job.

How fast can you get here?

Same-day. Call in the morning and a technician is usually on-site before the day is out; calls placed later in the day book for the next morning. Urgent breakdowns get priority routing.

Which areas do you cover?

The GTA and most of the Golden Horseshoe: Toronto through Mississauga, Vaughan, and Markham, out to Oshawa, Hamilton, and Niagara. If you're not sure you're in range, call and we'll tell you straight.

Do I need a service contract?

No. We work call by call. Plenty of customers put us on a maintenance schedule eventually, but that's their choice after seeing the work, never a requirement.

Are the repairs warrantied?

Parts carry their manufacturer warranty, and we stand behind our labour: if the same fault recurs, call us and we'll review it. Specific terms are discussed upfront on each job, not promised in marketing copy.

Do you repair on-site or take the machine away?

On-site whenever possible, which is most of the time. If a job genuinely needs the bench, like a full boiler rebuild or major electronics work, we'll say so before anything leaves your building.

How do I book a service call?

Call us or send the form on this page. We confirm the machine, the fault, and a time window the same day. If it's urgent, say so and we'll route the nearest technician.

What happens on the first visit?

Diagnosis first: we confirm the fault, tell you what caused it, and quote the fix before touching a wrench. Most repairs finish in that same visit because the common wear parts ride on the truck.

Do you carry parts or order them in?

High-wear parts for the platforms we service constantly ride on the truck. Anything else we order, usually next-day where suppliers allow, and we tell you the lead time before committing you to anything.

My machine is older or out of production. Will you still look at it?

Usually, yes. We service legacy machines for as long as parts can be sourced, and we're honest when a repair stops making financial sense against a replacement. You get the math, you make the call.

Are you cheaper than the manufacturer's service network?

Often, but that's not the pitch. We quote against the actual work, not a factory pricing book, and we'll tell you when a manufacturer warranty claim is the better route. Transparency is the value; the price usually follows.

Can you train our staff so this doesn't happen again?

Yes, and we do it by default on the way out. Half of repeat faults trace back to skipped daily cleaning or wrong routine, so the technician walks your team through what actually matters before leaving.
