Filter, held to espresso specs

Victoria Arduino PureBrew+ repair by technicians who know it cold. GTA-wide.

Filter service stops fast when the PureBrew+ can't hold its recipe. We repair this platform with the same instruments we bring to the espresso side: T3 temperature verification, flow and dose recalibration, clogged PureBrew pathways stripped and cleaned, NEO and touchscreen faults traced to the component. Your batch menu comes back with the numbers it was programmed with.

Victoria Arduino · Current PureBrew coffee system

The PureBrew+.

PureBrew+ is Victoria Arduino's dedicated platform for filter-style coffee, built on the same T3 multi-boiler backbone. Instead of pressure-driven espresso, the PureBrew cycle manages flow and temperature to brew a clean filter profile, with recipes stored per coffee. Specialty cafes run it beside a Black Eagle to cover the batch and single-cup menu. From the bench, water quality decides everything: the brew pathway and its restrictors clog with fines and scale long before the electronics complain.

PureBrew+ faults we diagnose

Where the PureBrew+ goes wrong, and our fix.

Here's what actually goes wrong on a hard-working PureBrew+, with the cause and the fix we apply for each.

Brew system & pressure 6 issues
!

Group gasket worn

The brew group still runs a gasket and screen, and they wear like any espresso group's. We back-flush, replace both, and prove the seal with test cycles.

!

Pre-infusion solenoid stuck

A stuck pre-infusion solenoid changes how the bed saturates, and the cup shows it. We test actuation, replace the solenoid, and confirm the cycle profile.

!

Gravitech gravimetric dose drift

Load cells out of calibration or vibration through the drip tray are the two causes of weight-based doses drifting. We calibrate against reference weights, level the chassis, and reprogram by weight; persistent drift gets a load cell replacement quote.

!

Pressure profile not holding through extraction

When the delivered profile stops matching the program, we read the transducer signal across a cycle to separate a control loop fault from a sensor fault, then recalibrate or replace accordingly and verify the curve.

!

Brew pressure low under sustained load

Pump wear shows first under sustained load. We measure output with a calibrated gauge and replace the pump when it can't hold spec.

!

One group pouring slow (gicleur clog)

A part-blocked gicleur slows the flow the recipe depends on. We pull it, clean it ultrasonically, and verify flow rate before the next batch.

Water, boiler & heating 3 issues
!

T3 group temperature drift

A drifted NTC sensor pulls brew temperature off the recipe. We test the sensors against a calibrated reference, descale the affected circuit, and recalibrate the T3 offsets.

!

Steam boiler heating slowly

Scale on the steam element slows recovery. We descale, test the element's resistance against spec, and replace it if it reads low.

!

Water leak under the machine

Fittings, brass elbows, and the three-way valve discharge cover most chassis leaks. We pressure-test, dye-trace, and replace the failed part.

Milk & steam 2 issues
!

Steam wand dripping

A worn steam valve cartridge is behind most drips. The valve gets rebuilt with a fresh kit, the tip descaled, and the shutoff verified on the gauge.

!

Auto-foamer weak foam

Milk residue in the air intake is what kills the foam. We strip the module down, sanitize it, fit new O-rings and a check valve, and verify the texture.

Electronics, grinder & other 6 issues
!

NEO energy-recovery diagnostic fault

NEO manages heat recovery and intelligent power draw, and fault codes here usually point to a recovery-loop sensor or a controller relay. We read the full diagnostic log, test against spec, and replace the failing component, restoring NEO calibration before reassembly.

!

Touchscreen unresponsive

Touchscreen hangs are usually firmware. Hard reset first, a reflash if it repeats, and the display module replaced only for true hardware failure.

!

Lighted button not registering

Corroded microswitches behind the panel stop presses registering. We clean the contacts, replace failed switches and LEDs, and verify every button.

!

Boiler level probe scaled

Scale on the conductivity probe misleads the fill logic. We descale it and replace it if pitted.

!

NEO recovery loop sensor drift

A recovery-loop sensor out of spec quietly costs you the energy savings. We test against the diagnostic reference, replace the sensor, and recalibrate NEO.

!

Cup warmer not heating

A failed relay or tripped thermal fuse is the whole story here. We test both and replace what's gone.

FAQ

Victoria Arduino PureBrew+, frequently asked.

20 answers covering service, repair, parts, installation, warranty, and edge cases.

Updated August 2026

Why is my PureBrew+ brewing slower than the recipe says it should?

The brew pathway is narrowing, usually with fines and coffee oils, and on hard water, scale joins in. Flow restrictors feel it first. We strip and clean the pathway, replace the seals, and verify the flow rate matches the programmed recipe again.

The coffee from our PureBrew+ suddenly tastes flat. Is it the machine or the beans?

Check the beans and grind first, but if those haven't changed, suspect temperature or flow. A drifted sensor pulls brew temperature off the recipe, and a partial clog changes contact time. We measure both against the recipe's targets, which settles the question with numbers instead of guesses.

What does a T3 alert mean on the PureBrew+?

The controller has lost confidence in one of its boiler temperature readings and has protected that circuit. It's usually a sensor or its wiring rather than the boiler itself. We test the sensors against a reference, fix the failed side, and recalibrate.

Do you actually service filter-coffee machines, or mostly espresso?

Both, and the PureBrew+ rewards that overlap: it runs the same T3 multi-boiler backbone as the espresso range, so the heating, sensor, and control work is identical territory. The filter-specific knowledge (pathway flow, recipe verification) sits on top. One technician covers the whole machine.

My PureBrew+ recipes aren't saving. What's wrong?

Controller memory or firmware. We back up what's recoverable, reflash to a stable build, restore the recipes, and verify each one loads and runs. It's annoying rather than serious, and it doesn't usually point at deeper hardware trouble.

Does a PureBrew+ need descaling more often than an espresso machine?

It earns its descales differently: filter recipes push more water per drink through the brew path, so scale accumulates where the flow lives. The honest schedule depends on your water and volume. We check scale condition on every visit and adjust the interval to the evidence.

The PureBrew+ touchscreen locked up mid-batch. What do I do?

Hard power-cycle at the breaker and it will usually come back; firmware hangs cause most lockups. If it repeats, the controller wants a reflash to a stable build. A genuinely failed display is rare and is a part swap rather than a crisis.

Is the PureBrew on our Eagle One the same thing as a PureBrew+?

Related but not identical. The Eagle One offers PureBrew as an option on the espresso group, while the PureBrew+ is a dedicated platform for filter service. The cleaning and flow work overlaps; the dedicated machine has its own service path, and we handle both.

How much does a repair visit cost?

Flat rate for the visit, parts billed at their actual cost on top. You'll hear the rate when you book, and for bigger jobs we quote in writing on-site before any work starts. No estimate that balloons mid-job.

How fast can you get here?

Same-day. Call in the morning and a technician is usually on-site before the day is out; calls placed later in the day book for the next morning. Urgent breakdowns get priority routing.

Which areas do you cover?

The GTA and most of the Golden Horseshoe: Toronto through Mississauga, Vaughan, and Markham, out to Oshawa, Hamilton, and Niagara. If you're not sure you're in range, call and we'll tell you straight.

Do I need a service contract?

No. We work call by call. Plenty of customers put us on a maintenance schedule eventually, but that's their choice after seeing the work, never a requirement.

Are the repairs warrantied?

Parts carry their manufacturer warranty, and we stand behind our labour: if the same fault recurs, call us and we'll review it. Specific terms are discussed upfront on each job, not promised in marketing copy.

Do you repair on-site or take the machine away?

On-site whenever possible, which is most of the time. If a job genuinely needs the bench, like a full boiler rebuild or major electronics work, we'll say so before anything leaves your building.

How do I book a service call?

Call us or send the form on this page. We confirm the machine, the fault, and a time window the same day. If it's urgent, say so and we'll route the nearest technician.

What happens on the first visit?

Diagnosis first: we confirm the fault, tell you what caused it, and quote the fix before touching a wrench. Most repairs finish in that same visit because the common wear parts ride on the truck.

Do you carry parts or order them in?

High-wear parts for the platforms we service constantly ride on the truck. Anything else we order, usually next-day where suppliers allow, and we tell you the lead time before committing you to anything.

My machine is older or out of production. Will you still look at it?

Usually, yes. We service legacy machines for as long as parts can be sourced, and we're honest when a repair stops making financial sense against a replacement. You get the math, you make the call.

Are you cheaper than the manufacturer's service network?

Often, but that's not the pitch. We quote against the actual work, not a factory pricing book, and we'll tell you when a manufacturer warranty claim is the better route. Transparency is the value; the price usually follows.

Can you train our staff so this doesn't happen again?

Yes, and we do it by default on the way out. Half of repeat faults trace back to skipped daily cleaning or wrong routine, so the technician walks your team through what actually matters before leaving.
