Do you actually work on Bezzera machines, or just the big-name brands?
Bezzera is a regular on our bench. It is one of the most common machines in the Italian-Canadian cafes, pizzerias, and trattorias we service across the GTA, so the gaskets, gicleurs, and Sirai and CEME pressurestats they wear through are already on the truck. There's usually at least one Bezzera open on the bench.
Are you a Bezzera dealer or authorized service centre?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. We are an independent commercial coffee equipment specialist, which means we answer to you, not to a distributor program. It also means we will happily take on out-of-warranty machines and the older Galatea and B6000 frames the supply chain has moved on from.
Is my Bezzera a commercial machine or a prosumer one, and does it change the repair?
Bezzera builds both, and it matters. The B2016, B2013 AL, Arcadia, Victoria, Verticale, Digita, and Woody are true cafe machines built for all-day volume, while the Matrix and the older Duo are compact one-group platforms aimed at offices and micro-cafes. We service the commercial line, where the parts, the duty cycle, and the diagnosis all differ, so tell us the exact model when you call.
What's the most common Bezzera fault you see?
On the heat-exchanger frames it is a tie between a worn group gasket and a level probe scaled over enough to throw a low-water alarm on a full boiler. On the electronic Arcadia, Victoria, and Matrix machines it is flow-meter dose drift from mineral buildup. None of those are major, and all three are usually sorted in one visit.
Why does my Bezzera pull hot or cold shots through the day?
On a heat-exchanger Bezzera, brew temperature rides on boiler pressure, so a drifting pressurestat or a scaled exchanger moves it around. We measure brew water at the group with a calibrated probe, set the pressurestat, and dial a flush routine in with your barista so the group lands the same temperature shot to shot.
Can you set the brew pressure and OPV on a Bezzera?
Yes, that is routine work. We put a portafilter gauge on the group, set the OPV back to 9 bar, and confirm pump output under load. If the pour is weak because the rotary pump has worn rather than the OPV drifting, we show you the gauge reading and quote a pump head.
Do you calibrate PID and brewing profiles on the Arcadia and Victoria?
We do. On the Arcadia DE PID, Arcadia Brewing Profile, and Victoria builds we check the NTC sensor against a reference temperature, descale the circuit, confirm the flow-meter readings, and recalibrate the PID or profile through the service menu. We hold it across a ten-shot test before calling it done.
Can you still get parts for an older Bezzera?
Usually, yes. Current parts come through the Italian distribution channel, and for the legacy Galatea, Maxi, B6000, B4000, and B3000 frames we draw on refurbisher networks and aftermarket gicleurs, OPVs, and gaskets we have validated against the platform. Availability does thin out year by year, so it is worth getting an older machine looked over before something major lets go.
Is it worth fixing a 20-year-old Bezzera or should I replace it?
A well-built Bezzera frame is usually worth keeping. The boiler, the chassis, and the groups are the expensive parts, and those last; what wears out, the gaskets, pressurestat, gicleurs, and seals, is small money against a new machine. We give you the repair number and an honest read on the frame, and if it ever stops making financial sense we will say so.
Does the water here wreck Bezzera machines?
Hard water is the single biggest enemy of a heat-exchanger Bezzera. Scale builds on the level probe, the exchanger, and the heating element, which is why machines on unsoftened municipal supply come to us heating slowly or throwing sensor faults. We fit and recommend softening on busy bars and set a descale interval to suit your actual volume.
One group on my Bezzera pours weaker than the others. What is that?
That is almost always the gicleur, the small brass restrictor that feeds each group, partly clogged with scale and coffee fines. Because only one group is affected, the problem is downstream of the pump, not the pump itself. We pull the gicleur, clear it ultrasonically, check the expansion valve behind it, and replace the part if the orifice has eroded.
How does pricing work for a Bezzera repair?
Flat rate for the visit and the diagnosis, which you hear when you book, and parts billed on top at their real cost. For a bigger job, a pump, a pressurestat, or a group rebuild, you get a written number on-site before any wrench moves. Nothing balloons mid-job.
Do you work on the Bezzera Strega lever machine?
The Strega is Bezzera's prosumer spring-lever machine, sold through home and enthusiast dealers rather than as a cafe platform, so it sits outside our commercial catalog. If you run one in a light-commercial setting, call and describe the install, and we will tell you honestly whether it is a fit for us.
Can you rebuild a worn Bezzera group?
Yes. A group that drips around the portafilter, channels, or will not seal gets a full service: new gasket, cleaned or replaced dispersion screen and screw, greased portafilter ears, and on E61 groups a fresh mushroom valve seal kit. We verify a dry seal and even extraction against reference shots before we leave.
We run Bezzera machines in a few locations. Can you handle all of them?
Yes, multi-site and multi-bar work is routine. One booking can cover the three-group B2016 at one cafe and the Matrix in the back office at another, with a single report listing what was done to each. When several machines share a fault, the cause is usually the water or the daily routine rather than the machines.
How fast can you get to a dead Bezzera?
Most calls placed before midday see a technician the same day, with later ones booked for the next morning. Bezzera-heavy areas like Woodbridge, Vaughan, and the east end sit inside our regular rotation, so there is no waiting on a regional tech. Tell us it is urgent and we route the nearest van.
My Bezzera Matrix touchscreen is frozen. Is the machine done?
Almost never. A frozen Matrix screen is usually a software hang that clears with a controller reset, and a firmware reflash settles the stubborn ones. Only a genuinely failed touch digitizer needs a display module, and that is a part swap, not a reason to retire the machine.
Are you cheaper than going through the Bezzera distributor?
Often, but that is not the real pitch. We quote against the actual work in front of us rather than a distributor price book, and we will tell you when a warranty claim through the dealer is genuinely the better route. The value is a straight diagnosis and a flat quote, and the price usually follows.
Can you show our baristas how to keep the Bezzera right?
Yes, and we do it on the way out by default. A lot of repeat faults trace back to a skipped daily clean, a wrong flush, or a missed descale, so the technician walks your team through back-flushing, milk-line cleaning, and what a healthy gauge looks like before leaving.
Do you fix Bezzera machines on-site or take them away?
On-site for the vast majority of jobs. A pressurestat, gasket, gicleur, flow-meter, or level-probe fault is sorted right at your counter with the panels off. The rare exception is a full boiler rebuild or major electronics work that genuinely belongs on a bench, and we will tell you before anything leaves the building.
