Who repairs Synesso espresso machines in Toronto?
We do, and we have for years. Grajqevci services Synesso machines in specialty cafes, roasteries, and restaurant espresso programs from Hamilton out to Oshawa, with Toronto's cafe districts the busiest stretch of the route. The coverage list further down this page shows every zone we reach.
Are you authorized by Synesso?
No, and we say that plainly. We're an independent commercial coffee equipment specialist, which means we quote against the actual work rather than a factory pricing book, and we'll take on a fifteen-year-old Cyncra that a manufacturer program would rather not see. Parts still come through the proper Synesso and Middleby channels.
What is a T-ring and why is my Synesso leaking at the group?
The T-ring is Synesso's proprietary seal between each saturated group and its boiler, and it's the most common wear item on the platform. When one fails you'll see steam venting from the group body or water tracking down the casting. Replacement means pulling the group, fitting the genuine part, and torquing the bolts in the documented sequence. We keep T-rings for the MVP Hydra and S-Series on the truck.
Why is one group on my Synesso running colder than the others?
Because each group has its own brew boiler, PID, and sensor, one cold group means a fault in that group's own circuit. The usual culprits are a drifted NTC sensor, scale insulating the element, or a PID offset. It's one of the most common Synesso calls we get, and it's normally diagnosed and fixed in a single visit.
Can you repair pressure profiling problems on an MVP Hydra?
Yes. The MVP Hydra runs a pump and a pre-infusion solenoid per group, and either can drift or fail on its own. We log the pressure curve at the portafilter, isolate the failing component, and re-verify the curve against your house profile after the repair. Your baristas confirm the shots before we sign off.
Why do the shot volumes on my S-Series keep drifting?
Almost always the flow meter. Volumetric dosing counts pulses from an impeller, and mineral buildup makes it drop pulses, so the controller pours volumes it never measured. We clean or replace the meter, recalibrate every dose button by weight, and check your water treatment, because hard water is what caused it.
How much does a Synesso repair cost?
The visit and diagnosis are a flat rate you hear when you book, with parts billed on top at their actual cost. A T-ring or gasket job is modest money; a pump head or controller board is more, and you'll have the full number in writing before we start. If a repair genuinely isn't worth it, we say that instead.
Can you get Synesso parts in Canada?
Yes. Since Middleby acquired Synesso in 2019, parts supply has been solid, and we order through that network with same-week turnaround on most components. High-wear items like T-rings, group gaskets, and pump heads for the MVP and S-Series ride on the truck already.
Do you still service the Synesso Cyncra?
Yes, happily. The Cyncra is the machine that started the brand, and plenty of cafes around here are still pouring on theirs 15 to 20 years in. Some parts take sourcing through the Middleby network or salvage stock, and when a repair stops making sense against a refurbished MVP Hydra, we tell you before you spend.
Why has pre-infusion stopped working on my Synesso?
On the MVP Hydra and ES.1, pre-infusion runs through an electronically controlled solenoid, and a failed solenoid or a quiet controller output kills the phase outright. The shot starts hard, the puck channels, and the cup turns harsh. We test the solenoid and the signal driving it, replace whichever has failed, and confirm the infusion phase is back by watching the pour.
Will my shots taste the same after a repair?
That's the goal, and we don't leave until they do. Temperature, pressure, and dose all get verified against your settings after any repair that touches them, and on profile-driven machines we pull calibration shots with your head barista. The machine should go back to the profile you dialled, not to factory defaults.
How long should a Synesso last?
Fifteen-plus years is realistic with service, and the brand's hand-built construction is a big part of why. The multi-boiler core rarely fails outright; what wears is the ring of parts around it: T-rings, gaskets, pump heads, valve cartridges. Stay ahead of those and the machine outlives most lease terms several times over.
Why is my Synesso's steam weak during the morning rush?
The steam boiler is separate from the brew boilers, so a rush exposes its weak link: scale on the element, a drifting pressurestat, or a worn valve cartridge at the wand. Each one shows differently at the gauge, which is how we tell them apart. All three are same-visit fixes in most cases.
Can you come before we open so we don't lose service?
Often, yes. Early slots exist for exactly this, and cafes are most of who uses them. Tell us your opening hours when you book and we'll find the window that costs you the fewest drinks.
Is a Synesso harder to service than other espresso machines?
It's not harder, it's just more of it. Three groups can mean three boilers, three PIDs, three sensors, three solenoids, and on the MVP Hydra three pumps, so the diagnosis has to be scoped to the right group rather than the machine as a whole. A tech who works on these regularly finds that liberating; a generalist finds it confusing. We're the former.
My Synesso is still under warranty. Should I call you or the manufacturer?
Check the warranty first, and we mean that. If the fault is covered, Synesso's own channel should handle it at no cost to you, and we'll tell you so on the phone. Most of what actually fails day to day, like scale damage and worn seals, sits outside coverage, and that work is ours all week.
Do you carry Synesso parts on the truck?
The truck stock follows the fault statistics: T-rings, group gaskets, steam valve cartridges, NTC sensors, and pump heads for the MVP and S-Series. That covers the majority of calls in one trip. Controller boards and less common components are ordered per job, usually arriving within the week.
Should I repair my older Synesso or replace it?
Run the math before sentiment, in either direction. Most Synesso faults are wear parts that cost a small fraction of a new machine, and the multi-boiler core ages slowly, so repair usually wins. The genuine exceptions are machines needing several major components at once, and if yours is one, the quote will say so plainly.
What water treatment does a Synesso need?
Proper filtration, and softening where the local supply runs hard. Scale is the quiet killer on this platform: it insulates elements, chokes saturated groups, and confuses flow meters, and parts of our service area run water hard enough to do all three quickly. We check filter and softener condition on every visit and tell you when a cartridge is done.
