Espresso Machines service

For cafe owners and head baristas

A cafe espresso install starts with water and ends with a barista who knows the machine.

Cafe espresso installs that produce great shots from week one share two traits: water treatment specced to local GTA hardness, and a barista team trained on cleaning, dose, and dial-in. We do the boring stuff right (plumbing, drainage, commissioning, connecting the machine to the power supply you provide) and we don't leave until your team can pull a shot they're proud of.

  • Craft platforms reward specialists PID dial-in, group seal wear, brew-temperature profiling. Most appliance shops have rarely opened a La Marzocco or set a Synesso.
  • Out of spec means lost revenue Half a bar off at 7am costs the morning rush and your regulars. On a craft bar, shot quality is your reputation.
  • We live on these machines La Marzocco, Synesso, Slayer, Rancilio, Faema. Constant hands-on is what produces espresso that holds shot after shot.

How our installation works

Site survey, clean install, and a team trained before we leave.

We handle water, drainage, plumbing, and commissioning, connect the machine to the power supply you provide, and stay until your staff can run it confidently. You arrange the dedicated circuit through a licensed electrician to the spec we give you. Single units or multi-site rollouts.

Cafe & restaurant install scope

From water to barista handover. What a cafe espresso install actually includes.

Cafe installs touch your contractor, your equipment supplier, your barista team, and your water supplier. We coordinate the technical end so you can focus on opening.

Site survey and platform specification

Electrical assessment (most two-group machines run on 240V single-phase, three-group commercial units may require 208 or 240V three-phase or dedicated 30A circuits), bench depth, water access, drain location, and barista workflow. We recommend platforms that match your bar layout and daily volume.

Water treatment design

Water hardness measured and softener or reverse osmosis system sized accordingly. Boiler longevity on espresso platforms hinges on correct water spec. Toronto and inner-GTA water typically runs softer than York Region, and treatment follows the local profile.

Plumbing and commissioning

Permanent water inlet, gravity drain, and full commissioning. We connect the machine to the power supply you provide. You arrange the dedicated circuit through a licensed electrician, and we spec exactly what it needs to be. Pressure stat, PID, and pre-infusion settings dialed before sign-off.

Barista training and platform handover

Backflushing schedule, group head and steam wand daily cleaning, dose calibration, and basic troubleshooting walked through with your barista team. Refresher training available as staff turn over.

Multi-machine and hospitality rollouts

Multi-machine cafe groups, hotel bars with multiple service points, and restaurant groups get coordinated scheduling, consolidated invoicing, and a single point of contact across all sites.

FAQ

Cafe & restaurant espresso installation, the questions we get most.

19 answers about espresso machines installation across the GTA.

Updated July 2026

Can you install a La Marzocco, Synesso, or Slayer for a new cafe build?

Yes. We've installed every traditional commercial espresso platform across GTA new builds, second locations, retrofits, and pop-up cafes, from site survey through commissioning, dial-in, and barista handover. Most single-machine cafe installs land in one visit. Multi-machine roastery installs run 2 to 3 days.

What does a cafe espresso install actually cost?

The install itself (plumbing, water filtration, connecting the machine to the power you provide, commissioning, staff training) is quoted flat after the site survey, typically $1,500 to $3,500 depending on platform, filtration scope, and any sub-trades required. You arrange the dedicated circuit through a licensed electrician to the spec we give you. The machine is whatever you've sourced. We install equipment from any vendor.

What electrical do we actually need for a 2-group La Marzocco or Synesso?

Most 2-group traditional espresso machines need a dedicated 30A 240V circuit (single-phase). 3-group units and EP machines often need 50A or 208/240V three-phase. We confirm the exact spec against your machine's serial plate during the site survey and coordinate with your electrician if a panel run is needed.

Cafe water filtration: what do you actually spec for GTA water?

For Toronto and most central GTA water: a carbon block plus softening cartridge (BWT Bestmax Premium or equivalent) sized to your daily volume. For Vaughan, Markham, and the harder outer-GTA water: usually multi-stage with softening, sometimes RO. We test on-site, spec the cartridge stack, install the housing, and roll cartridge changes into your maintenance.

What's the timeline from quote to opening?

Site survey within 3 business days of your first call, written quote within 24 hours of the survey. From quote acceptance to a commissioned machine: 5 to 10 business days, depending on filtration sourcing and any sub-trades. We can compress that for cafes with hard opening dates.

Will you train our baristas after commissioning?

Yes. Every install includes full barista training: the daily cleaning protocol, backflushing with detergent (the single most important task), dose dialing, shot pulling, milk steaming, and the failure signs that warrant a call before a problem becomes downtime. We don't leave until your bar team can pull a shot they're proud of.

Can you commission a refurbished or used La Marzocco?

Yes, used and refurbished installs are common: specialty importers, retired roastery equipment, machines transferred from a closed cafe. We test boiler integrity, pressure decay, electrical safety, and group condition before commissioning. If something needs work before it should go into service, you'll know the day of the survey.

Do you handle lever and vintage Italian machine installs?

Yes. Levers (Elektra Belle Epoque, La Pavoni Pub), vintage La Marzocco GS3, restored Faema E61, and other heritage machines are in scope. These installs need extra time on commissioning and barista training because of their mechanical complexity, and we plan for it.

Mavam or other under-counter pop-up espresso?

Yes. Mavam, La Marzocco Pico, and similar under-counter systems with remote group heads are in scope. Counter cutout coordination and plumbing routing add some complexity, but the install scope and process are essentially the same as a top-counter machine.

Are you authorized by La Marzocco, Synesso, or anyone else?

No. We're an independent cafe installer. That's what lets us install machines you've sourced from any vendor (manufacturer-direct, dealer, refurbisher, importer) and dial them in honestly, with no brand quota steering the recommendation.

How do we size the machine to our cafe's volume?

The site survey covers your daily shot count target, peak hour load, milk drink ratio, and bar workflow. A 2-group is right for most specialty cafes. A 3-group starts making sense over roughly 250 drinks per hour at peak. Volumetric versus manual paddle is a workflow call. We recommend honestly, based on your numbers.

Can you handle multi-location cafe rollouts?

Yes. Cafe groups, hotel F&B groups with multiple bars, and roastery operators with several locations get coordinated install scheduling, consistent commissioning standards across sites, and a single point of contact for all locations.

Do you do the plumbing and the electrical?

Plumbing and the equipment-side hookup we do ourselves: water supply, drain, fittings, and connecting the machine to the power you provide. The electrical itself is the client's responsibility. You have a licensed electrician install the dedicated circuit, and at the survey we hand you the exact spec it needs. Where a new water supply run or drain installation needs a licensed plumber, we coordinate that sub-trade. The site survey identifies everything up front, so there are no install-day surprises.

What if our cafe build delays push the install date?

We reschedule. Equipment storage in our warehouse is no charge for up to 30 days. Cafe construction timelines slip. We plan for it.

Do you decommission and remove an existing cafe espresso machine?

Yes, when relocating or replacing. We disconnect, transport to your storage or a refurbisher's pickup, and dispose responsibly. Some platforms (La Marzocco Linea Classic, healthy Synessos) hold trade-in or resale value, and we say so when it applies.

Can you install in a heritage building or unusual cafe layout?

Yes. Heritage buildings with limited electrical capacity, restored spaces where plumbing routing is tricky, and unusual bar geometries (round bars, mobile carts, container cafes) are all jobs we've done. The site survey flags the constraints up front.

Do you offer post-install service plans for cafes?

Yes. Most cafes move onto a volume-matched maintenance plan within the first 60 days: a visit every 2 to 3 months for higher-volume cafes, quarterly for steady restaurants. No long-term contract, cancel anytime.

What's payment timing on a cafe install?

Invoiced on net terms at commissioning for most accounts. Larger multi-machine roastery installs often run progress invoicing tied to milestones (survey, equipment delivery, install complete, sign-off). E-transfer, cheque, ACH, or credit card.

What GTA cafe areas do you install in regularly?

Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton, and the wider Greater Toronto Area. Specialty cafe density is highest in downtown Toronto, Leslieville, Junction, Roncesvalles, the Yonge corridor, North York, Vaughan, and Markham. Outer GTA cafes (Burlington, Hamilton, Whitby) get routed on a per-job basis.

Why call a specialist

Why cafe operators pick an independent installer.

We install whatever cafe equipment you've sourced: La Marzocco direct, dealer-purchased Synesso, refurbished Linea, a lever machine from Italy via a specialty importer. Our recommendation isn't a brand sales pitch. If your roastery has a relationship with Slayer, we install your Slayer. If you've fallen for a Mavam undercounter, we install that.

That independence also shows up in the training. We'll spend the time with your baristas on cleaning, dose tuning, and shot profile. That training prevents 60% of the repair calls that would otherwise show up six months in.
