Still, sparkling, or stopped

Fast, expert TopBrewer TopWater repair. Same-day across the GTA.

Office water taps don't get sympathy; they're simply expected to work. When a TopWater pours flat sparkling, warm chilled, or nothing at all, we repair it at the cabinet: filter cartridges, CO2 supply and regulators, chiller faults, stuck solenoids. The usual suspects are consumables, the visit is short, and the tap goes back to being ignored, which is the point.

TopBrewer · Under-counter filtered water tap

The TopWater.

TopWater is the platform's water tap: filtered still, chilled, and sparkling from the same under-counter cabinet. It shares the design language and the service logic of the coffee systems, with a chiller, CO2 carbonation on sparkling models, and a filter doing the quiet work. Premium offices fit it beside a TopBrewer so the whole beverage wall is taps. In service terms it's wonderfully predictable: when something drifts, it's the filter or the CO2 far more often than the refrigeration.

TopWater faults we diagnose

Common TopWater faults, and how we clear them.

Most TopWater calls trace to a short list of causes. Here's that list, with what's behind each fault and how we put it right.

Water, boiler & heating 5 issues
!

Filtered water with off-taste or noticeable chlorine

An exhausted filter cartridge, almost without exception. We fit a new cartridge, prime the line, reset the cycle counter, and taste-check the tap before we sign it off.

!

Sparkling water flat or producing no carbonation

An empty CO2 tank, a failed regulator, or a carbonation pump below spec. We check tank pressure and contents, test the regulator, and inspect the pump. A tank swap is quick; a pump that's genuinely done gets quoted before replacement.

!

Chilled water not cold

A refrigeration fault, a dead fan, or a drifting thermostat. We measure the chiller output, verify refrigerant pressure, and inspect the fan and thermostat. Most cases land on the fan or thermostat; refrigerant work gets escalated when it's the real fault.

!

Hot tap not at target temperature

Scale on the element, a drifted thermostat, or an element failure. We descale the hot circuit, test the element's resistance, and replace it if scale has done permanent damage.

!

Filter alert won't clear after cartridge replacement

The counter needs a manual reset through the service interface after a cartridge change. We confirm the new cartridge is seated and primed, reset the counter, and verify the alert stays gone.

Electronics, grinder & other 8 issues
!

Tap dripping or stream poor

Worn nozzle seal or mineral deposit at the tip. We descale the tap, fit a new seal, and bleed the line.

!

Tap dispense not stopping when button released

A stuck dispense solenoid or a control board fault. We test the solenoid coil, replace it if it has failed, verify the control board signal, and confirm the dispense cuts off cleanly.

!

Tap LED or status indicator showing fault

We connect through the Scanomat service interface beneath the counter, read the fault log, and pin the fault to filter, CO2, chiller, or electronics before fixing it at the root.

!

Machine in boot loop or won't power on

A failed power supply, a blown fuse, or a controller fault. We diagnose at the test points with a multimeter, replace the failed component, and bring the unit back up.

!

TopWater not reporting to the Scanomat app or fleet dashboard

Network connectivity or cloud sync. We verify the local network, check the Scanomat cloud account, and re-pair the unit if the registration has drifted.

!

Under-counter access compromised by install conditions

The same access challenge as TopBrewer: we free the cabinet path and quote remediation where the original fit-out needs opening up.

!

CO2 tank changeover taking too long for premium hospitality use

When changeovers come too often for the venue, the tank is undersized for the demand. We measure CO2 use against tank size, recommend a larger tank or bulk supply where the volume justifies it, and check the regulator is sized for the upgrade.

!

Solenoid valve leaking past producing slow drip at the tap

Leak-by from a worn valve seat. The solenoid gets replaced as an assembly, then we verify dry-tap operation across every dispense mode.

FAQ

TopBrewer TopWater, frequently asked.

20 answers covering service, repair, parts, installation, warranty, and edge cases.

Updated July 2026

Why does our TopWater taste off all of a sudden?

An exhausted filter cartridge, almost without exception. Replace it, prime the line, and reset the counter, and the taste comes back; if it doesn't, we descale the dispense path and check what's upstream. Offices on low volume often run cartridges past their date because nothing reminds them.

Why is the sparkling water flat?

Either the CO2 tank has run down, the regulator output has drifted, or the carbonation pump is below spec. The tank is the usual answer and the quickest fix. We verify all three in one visit so you're not buying gas to mask a regulator fault.

The chilled water isn't cold anymore. Is the fridge dead?

Usually not. A failed fan or a drifting thermostat causes most warm-water complaints, and both are quick replacements. Genuine refrigerant work is rarer, and we tell you before that bill exists.

Why won't the dispense stop when we let go of the button?

A stuck dispense solenoid or a control board fault. We test the solenoid coil, replace it if it's failed, and verify the board's signal so the tap cuts off cleanly every time.

How often do TopWater filter cartridges need changing?

The machine counts usage and raises the alert when the cartridge reaches its rated capacity, so the honest answer is: when it tells you. On moderate GTA water that lands every few months for a busy office tap. We log your interval and can put changes on a schedule so the alert never surprises anyone.

Can you service the CO2 system, or just swap tanks?

The whole system: tanks, regulators, carbonation pump, and the dispense valves downstream. If changeovers are coming too often we'll size the demand and recommend a larger tank or bulk supply rather than selling you more frequent visits.

Does TopWater need descaling like the coffee machines?

The hot circuit does, and the dispense path benefits from it. Scale on the hot tap's element is the usual reason target temperature drifts. The chilled side mostly needs filtration kept honest rather than descaling.

The TopWater stopped showing up in the Scanomat app. Why?

Network connectivity or a drifted cloud registration, the same as the coffee systems. We verify the local network, check the cloud account, and re-pair the unit. If your building's firewall is the blocker, we work it through with IT.

How much does a repair visit cost?

Flat rate for the visit, parts billed at their actual cost on top. You'll hear the rate when you book, and for bigger jobs we quote in writing on-site before any work starts. No estimate that balloons mid-job.

How fast can you get here?

Same-day in most cases. Call in the morning and a technician is usually on-site before the day is out; calls placed later in the day book for the next morning. Urgent breakdowns get priority routing.

Which areas do you cover?

The GTA and most of the Golden Horseshoe: Toronto through Mississauga, Vaughan, and Markham, out to Oshawa, Hamilton, and Niagara. If you're not sure you're in range, call and we'll tell you straight.

Do I need a service contract?

No. We work call by call. Plenty of customers put us on a maintenance schedule eventually, but that's their choice after seeing the work, never a requirement.

Are the repairs warrantied?

Parts carry their manufacturer warranty, and we stand behind our labour: if the same fault recurs, call us and we'll review it. Specific terms are discussed upfront on each job, not promised in marketing copy.

Do you repair on-site or take the machine away?

On-site whenever possible, which is most of the time. If a job genuinely needs the bench, like a full boiler rebuild or major electronics work, we'll say so before anything leaves your building.

How do I book a service call?

Call us or send the form on this page. We confirm the machine, the fault, and a time window the same day. If it's urgent, say so and we'll route the nearest technician.

What happens on the first visit?

Diagnosis first: we confirm the fault, tell you what caused it, and quote the fix before touching a wrench. Most repairs finish in that same visit because the common wear parts ride on the truck.

Do you carry parts or order them in?

High-wear parts for the platforms we service constantly ride on the truck. Anything else we order, usually next-day where suppliers allow, and we tell you the lead time before committing you to anything.

My machine is older or out of production. Will you still look at it?

Usually, yes. We service legacy machines for as long as parts can be sourced, and we're honest when a repair stops making financial sense against a replacement. You get the math, you make the call.

Are you cheaper than the manufacturer's service network?

Often, but that's not the pitch. We quote against the actual work, not a factory pricing book, and we'll tell you when a manufacturer warranty claim is the better route. Transparency is the value; the price usually follows.

Can you train our staff so this doesn't happen again?

Yes, and we do it by default on the way out. Half of repeat faults trace back to skipped daily cleaning or wrong routine, so the technician walks your team through what actually matters before leaving.

Your TopBrewer TopWater deserves a specialist.

Most TopWater fixes are consumables; the visit is quick and quoted upfront.
