Brasilia · Current traditional espresso machine

The Festa.

The Festa is a current Brasilia traditional machine running the B16 group, rated for up to 700 shots a day. Like its stablemates it carries Bullone Rosso pre-heat, electronic pre-infusion, the stainless dry-steam boiler with three-level thermosiphon regulation, and Cool Touch wands. Its natural posting is high-volume hospitality, and machines worked that hard reward an operator who treats cleaning cycles and water quality as seriously as the coffee.

Festa faults we diagnose

What breaks on a hard-run Festa, and the fix.

Hard-running machines fail in predictable ways. These are the Festa faults we actually get called for, with cause and repair.

Electronics, grinder & other 5 issues
!

B16 brewing unit thermal stability drift

Consistency is the whole point of the B16 group, so drift means scale has reached the Bullone Rosso circuit or the thermosiphon has slipped calibration. We measure brew temperature at each portafilter with a calibrated probe, descale what the readings implicate, and re-set every group from the touchscreen.

!

Touchscreen unresponsive or fault code on display

When the display throws a code, Fixing Control has already pointed at the subsystem; our job is to prove it before parts move. A probe confirms the diagnosis, cables get reseated at the controller board, and the failed component is replaced. Boards and touch panels dominate these calls on older machines.

!

Electronic pre-infusion not engaging on one group

Each group's electronic pre-infusion hangs off its own solenoid and controller signal, and one of the two failing silences pre-infusion on that group alone. We test both, replace the guilty component, and re-verify the timing against your preferred profile.

!

Auto-Cleaning cycle failing or incomplete

Stalled cleaning cycles trace to chemical level or the blank's seal more often than anything mechanical. We confirm both, re-run the cycle, and watch the controller for fault codes if it still hesitates.

!

Cool Touch steam wand losing thermal insulation

Milk residue inside the wand assembly is what undoes the Cool Touch thermal break. We open the wand up, clean and inspect the insulation, and fit a replacement assembly where it has failed. Strict daily wand hygiene is the cheap fix that prevents the expensive one.

Don't see your issue? Call (289) 217-3796 with a description of what's happening and any error codes on screen. We'll likely diagnose it before we arrive. And if the same fault keeps returning, that's scale at work. The right Brasilia water filter ends the repeat visits.

Updated August 2026

Can a Festa really keep up with 700 shots a day?

That's its rating, and the stainless dry-steam boiler with three-level thermosiphon regulation is specced for exactly that duty. The honest caveat is that hard-run machines compress their wear schedules, so gaskets, screens, and descales come due sooner. Stay ahead of those and the Festa holds its pace.

Why does my Festa's shot temperature wander during a rush?

Load exposes scale before idle ever does. When the Bullone Rosso pre-heat circuit or the thermosiphon starts coating, the B16 groups lose stability exactly when demand peaks. We probe each group under realistic conditions, descale what the readings implicate, and re-set the groups from the touchscreen.

My Festa is showing a fault code. Can I keep using it?

Depends on the code, and that's worth a phone call rather than a guess. Fixing Control maps each code to a subsystem, so tell us what's on the screen and we'll say whether it can limp to closing time or should stop now. Repeated power-cycling to chase a code away is the one thing we'd ask you not to do.

Why did pre-infusion stop on one of my Festa's groups?

That group's solenoid or the controller signal behind it has quit; the per-group design means a single failure stays local. We test both at the machine, replace the failed component, and re-verify the timing against the profile your bar runs.

Our Festa's steam wands run almost constantly. What wears out first?

The Cool Touch thermal break, usually, once milk residue works into the assembly, with the valve internals close behind. We rebuild or replace what's worn and check the steam circuit for scale at the same time. Rigorous daily wand cleaning is what slows the cycle down.

How important is Auto-Cleaning on a high-volume Festa?

At serious daily volume it's the difference between scheduled service and surprise faults. Stalled cycles usually trace to low cleaning chemical or an unseated blank in the portafilter, and skipped cycles show up in the cup within days. We verify a complete cycle on every visit.

What's a realistic descale schedule for a hard-working Festa?

Tighter than the brochure suggests. Volume multiplied by water hardness sets the real interval, and a Festa pouring near its rating on harder water can need boiler attention twice as often as a quiet machine. The machine telegraphs it first: longer warm-up, fading steam, restless pressure cycling.

Are Festa parts shared with other Brasilia machines?

Largely, yes. The B16 platform means gaskets, screens, seals, and most group-side parts are common across the BL family, which is why the wear items ride on our truck. Model-specific bodywork and boards are ordered per job, with the lead time quoted up front.

How much does a repair visit cost?

Flat rate for the visit, parts billed at their actual cost on top. You'll hear the rate when you book, and for bigger jobs we quote in writing on-site before any work starts. No estimate that balloons mid-job.

How fast can you get here?

Same-day. Call in the morning and a technician is usually on-site before the day is out; calls placed later in the day book for the next morning. Urgent breakdowns get priority routing.

Which areas do you cover?

The GTA and most of the Golden Horseshoe: Toronto through Mississauga, Vaughan, and Markham, out to Oshawa, Hamilton, and Niagara. If you're not sure you're in range, call and we'll tell you straight.

Do I need a service contract?

No. We work call by call. Plenty of customers put us on a maintenance schedule eventually, but that's their choice after seeing the work, never a requirement.

Are the repairs warrantied?

Parts carry their manufacturer warranty, and we stand behind our labour: if the same fault recurs, call us and we'll review it. Specific terms are discussed upfront on each job, not promised in marketing copy.

Do you repair on-site or take the machine away?

On-site whenever possible, which is most of the time. If a job genuinely needs the bench, like a full boiler rebuild or major electronics work, we'll say so before anything leaves your building.

How do I book a service call?

Call us or send the form on this page. We confirm the machine, the fault, and a time window the same day. If it's urgent, say so and we'll route the nearest technician.

What happens on the first visit?

Diagnosis first: we confirm the fault, tell you what caused it, and quote the fix before touching a wrench. Most repairs finish in that same visit because the common wear parts ride on the truck.

Do you carry parts or order them in?

High-wear parts for the platforms we service constantly ride on the truck. Anything else we order, usually next-day where suppliers allow, and we tell you the lead time before committing you to anything.

My machine is older or out of production. Will you still look at it?

Usually, yes. We service legacy machines for as long as parts can be sourced, and we're honest when a repair stops making financial sense against a replacement. You get the math, you make the call.

Are you cheaper than the manufacturer's service network?

Often, but that's not the pitch. We quote against the actual work, not a factory pricing book, and we'll tell you when a manufacturer warranty claim is the better route. Transparency is the value; the price usually follows.

Can you train our staff so this doesn't happen again?

Yes, and we do it by default on the way out. Half of repeat faults trace back to skipped daily cleaning or wrong routine, so the technician walks your team through what actually matters before leaving.
