Hospitality espresso, no idle

Dalla Corte Icon repair by technicians who know it cold. GTA-wide.

Hotel breakfast doesn't reschedule because the espresso machine did. The Icon is built for exactly that kind of pressure, and we repair it under exactly that kind of pressure: cold groups, slow steam recovery, auto-steam faults, doses drifting under volume. Most fixes happen at the machine, between services, with parts off the truck.

Dalla Corte · High-turnover hospitality platform with optional Steam Maestro auto-milk wand

The Icon.

The Icon is Dalla Corte's high-turnover hospitality machine, rated for up to 500 shots a day. It pairs the brand's per-group boiler layout with fast recovery for long service windows, and the optional Steam Maestro wand adds automatic milk texturing with Cappuccino, Flat White, and Hot Milk presets. Hotels and banquet operations run it hard, and the service file reflects that: steam components and flow meters wear first, boilers scale on the clock.

Icon faults we diagnose

What goes wrong on the Icon under volume.

These Icon faults come straight from hospitality service calls, with the usual cause and the fix we carry out at the machine.

Brew system & pressure 5 issues
!

Group gasket leak

Routine wear. We replace the gasket and dispersion screen and confirm the seal under brew pressure.

!

Channelling on a group

An oil-clogged screen. We fit a new one and backflush the group until the pour runs even.

!

Pre-infusion drift

Usually the solenoid. We test it, recalibrate the profile, and replace the valve if it's hesitating.

!

Brew pressure inconsistent across groups

We gauge each group, adjust the expansion valve, and quote a pump replacement if output is genuinely below spec.

!

Pump hammers under continuous use

A worn rotary pump or a starved inlet. We verify inlet pressure and inspect the pump before anything gets replaced.

Water, boiler & heating 5 issues
!

One group running cold during peak service

A cold group during service points at that group's element, NTC, or PID, since each one runs on its own. We test against a reference and recalibrate or replace whichever fails.

!

Steam boiler slow to recover during banquet service

Element wear or scale, almost every time. We descale the boiler and test the element's current draw so it can keep pace with banquet-volume steaming.

!

Heat-up time longer than spec

Scale is the usual answer. We descale the brew boilers and verify the heat-up clock against spec.

!

Water leak

Pressure-testing each circuit finds the source fast. We replace the failed seals and confirm dry operation.

!

Drain backflow during peak service

A drain that backs up at your busiest hour is a capacity problem. We clear the line and verify the run can actually carry peak volume.

Milk & steam 2 issues
!

Steam cartridge worn

Standard wear on a hard-working steam valve. We rebuild it with the correct Dalla Corte cartridge and verify dry shut-off.

!

Auto-steam not actuating (if equipped)

On Steam Maestro machines this is usually the auto-steam solenoid or the temperature probe. We test the actuator and the probe, replace the one that's failing, then confirm all three presets texture correctly.

Electronics, grinder & other 3 issues
!

Dose drift under volume

Flow meters scale up faster on high-volume machines. We clean them and reprogram the doses, and if it keeps recurring we look at your water.

!

Display fault

We trace the fault to the board, display, or wiring and replace only the failing component.

!

Level probe scaled

Scale makes the probe misread the boiler level. We descale or replace it and verify autofill runs true.

FAQ

Dalla Corte Icon, frequently asked.

20 answers covering service, repair, parts, installation, warranty, and edge cases.

Updated July 2026

Why does my Icon's steam fade during banquet service?

The steam boiler is struggling to recover under sustained draw, and scale or element wear is usually why. We descale the boiler, measure the element's current draw, and verify the pressurestat. Recovery should then keep pace with a full banquet line.

What goes wrong with the Steam Maestro automatic wand?

The usual suspects are the auto-steam solenoid and the temperature probe. Symptoms are presets that overshoot, under-texture, or refuse to start. We test the actuator and the probe, replace the failed part, and verify all three presets, with dairy or plant milk, before we leave.

Can the Icon's automatic steaming handle oat and other plant milks?

Yes, Steam Maestro is designed to work with both dairy and plant-based milks, with presets adjustable for temperature and foam density. If a preset stopped behaving after a milk change, it usually needs re-dialing rather than repair. We do both on the same visit.

One group on the Icon went cold mid-service. What now?

Keep serving on the other groups; they run on their own boilers and aren't affected. The cold group's element, sensor, or PID has failed, and we test all three to find which. It's a one-visit fix in most cases.

Why do doses drift faster on our Icon than on our old machine?

Volume. Flow meters scale up faster on machines pouring hundreds of shots a day, and the Icon usually is. We clean the meters and reprogram doses, and if drift returns quickly we look at the water treatment, because that's the real culprit at high volume.

Our Icon's pump hammers during continuous service. Is that serious?

It's worth booking promptly. Hammering points at a worn rotary pump or a starved water inlet, and the inlet is the cheaper, more common answer. We verify inlet pressure before condemning the pump.

Can you service our Icon outside service hours?

Yes, and for hospitality floors that's the norm rather than the exception. Early mornings, between services, and evenings are all bookable, arranged case by case. Tell us your service windows and we'll fit the visit around them.

How does the Icon differ from the Evo2 for service purposes?

They share the per-group boiler architecture, so the core work is similar. The Icon adds faster recovery for high-turnover settings and the optional Steam Maestro wand, which brings its own solenoid and probe to the checklist. Both are honest machines to work on.

How much does a repair visit cost?

Flat rate for the visit, parts billed at their actual cost on top. You'll hear the rate when you book, and for bigger jobs we quote in writing on-site before any work starts. No estimate that balloons mid-job.

How fast can you get here?

Same-day in most cases. Call in the morning and a technician is usually on-site before the day is out; calls placed later in the day book for the next morning. Urgent breakdowns get priority routing.

Which areas do you cover?

The GTA and most of the Golden Horseshoe: Toronto through Mississauga, Vaughan, and Markham, out to Oshawa, Hamilton, and Niagara. If you're not sure you're in range, call and we'll tell you straight.

Do I need a service contract?

No. We work call by call. Plenty of customers put us on a maintenance schedule eventually, but that's their choice after seeing the work, never a requirement.

Are the repairs warrantied?

Parts carry their manufacturer warranty, and we stand behind our labour: if the same fault recurs, call us and we'll review it. Specific terms are discussed upfront on each job, not promised in marketing copy.

Do you repair on-site or take the machine away?

On-site whenever possible, which is most of the time. If a job genuinely needs the bench, like a full boiler rebuild or major electronics work, we'll say so before anything leaves your building.

How do I book a service call?

Call us or send the form on this page. We confirm the machine, the fault, and a time window the same day. If it's urgent, say so and we'll route the nearest technician.

What happens on the first visit?

Diagnosis first: we confirm the fault, tell you what caused it, and quote the fix before touching a wrench. Most repairs finish in that same visit because the common wear parts ride on the truck.

Do you carry parts or order them in?

High-wear parts for the platforms we service constantly ride on the truck. Anything else we order, usually next-day where suppliers allow, and we tell you the lead time before committing you to anything.

My machine is older or out of production. Will you still look at it?

Usually, yes. We service legacy machines for as long as parts can be sourced, and we're honest when a repair stops making financial sense against a replacement. You get the math, you make the call.

Are you cheaper than the manufacturer's service network?

Often, but that's not the pitch. We quote against the actual work, not a factory pricing book, and we'll tell you when a manufacturer warranty claim is the better route. Transparency is the value; the price usually follows.

Can you train our staff so this doesn't happen again?

Yes, and we do it by default on the way out. Half of repeat faults trace back to skipped daily cleaning or wrong routine, so the technician walks your team through what actually matters before leaving.

Your Dalla Corte Icon deserves a specialist.

Evening and between-service visits are routine for hospitality floors.
