When your Dalla Corte goes quiet

Dalla Corte coffee machine repair, GTA-wide.

A Dalla Corte never fails quietly: one group runs cold, the flow regulator binds, the shots stop agreeing with the scale. We repair the whole range, Mina, XT, Zero Plus, Evo2, Icon, Studio, and Studio Aqua, plus original Zero machines still pulling daily. Because every group has its own boiler and PID, faults usually live in one group, and we arrive knowing which parts that means. Tell us the symptom and we'll bring the fix.

Dalla Corte commercial coffee machine, serviced and repaired by Grajqevci in Toronto and the GTA.
Dalla Corte commercial coffee machine logo.

One boiler per group, Milanese by design.

Dalla Corte builds espresso machines outside Milan around one idea: a separate brew boiler for every group. Each group carries its own element, sensor, and PID, which is why specialty cafes and quality-driven hotels spec these machines for shot consistency. From the bench they're logical to work on; a fault announces which group owns it, and the needle-valve flow regulators on the Mina and XT reward a technician who treats them as the precision parts they are.

Dalla Corte faults we diagnose

Common Dalla Corte issues, and how we fix them.

These are the Dalla Corte faults that book the most service calls, with the usual cause and what we do about each one at the machine.

Brew system & pressure 4 issues
!

Group head gasket leak or seepage at the portafilter seal

A routine wear item under daily café use. We pull the dispersion screen and shower screw, fit a new group gasket, descale the screen, and check for a clean seal under brew pressure across several test shots. If the dispersion screen itself is worn, we quote the replacement on the spot.

!

Manual flow regulator not actuating smoothly (XT, Mina)

Manual flow regulators on the XT and Mina are precision needle valves, and sediment, scale, or a worn valve seat will make them stick or meter unevenly. We strip the regulator down, clean and inspect the valve, fit a new seal kit, and confirm smooth flow modulation across the full range before we leave.

!

Pre-infusion or pressure profile drifting from setpoint

Three usual suspects here: a failed pre-infusion solenoid, an expansion valve out of adjustment, or the pump itself. We work through the pre-infusion circuit, test the solenoid, measure brew pressure with a portafilter gauge, and recalibrate the expansion valve or replace the failed part. Expect the profile to hold its setpoint again after one visit.

!

Brew pressure inconsistent across groups

Pump wear, an expansion valve that has drifted, or scale in the brew circuit. We gauge brew pressure at each group with a portafilter gauge, check the rotary pump's output to atmosphere, and adjust the expansion valve. If the pump is genuinely below spec, you get a replacement quote before any work starts.

Water, boiler & heating 3 issues
!

One group boiler running cold or temperature drifting

Every Dalla Corte machine runs an independent boiler per group, so drift on one group while the others stay stable points at that group's NTC sensor, PID calibration, or heating element. We test each against a reference probe, recalibrate the PID through the service interface, and replace whichever part is out of spec.

!

Scale buildup affecting heat-up time or shot consistency

Scale insulates elements and restricts flow through the boiler. We descale each group boiler and the steam boiler individually with a Dalla Corte-approved product, inspect the elements, and verify heat-up time and shot temperature come back to spec. While we're in there, we review the water filtration and adjust it if the scale says it isn't keeping up.

!

Water leak under the machine, drip tray overflow, or drain blockage

We pressure-test each circuit to isolate the leak, then inspect brew solenoid seals, boiler fittings, and drain hoses. Failed seals are replaced, blockages cleared, and the machine verified dry under pressure. Recurring leaks usually trace back to scale stressing the fittings, so we review water quality before closing the job.

Milk & steam 2 issues
!

Steam wand cartridge worn or weak steam at full open

Steam valve cartridges and tip seals are routine wear items on these machines. We rebuild the valve with the correct Dalla Corte cartridge, descale the wand internals and tip orifice, and confirm dry steam at full open, with boiler pressure verified at the gauge before we pack up.

!

Steam boiler pressure low or pressurestat failing

Usually scale, pressurestat drift, or a tired element. We descale the steam boiler, test the pressurestat at its setpoint, measure element resistance, and replace whichever component is failing. Stability gets proven with a 30-minute hold test, not a quick glance at the gauge.

Electronics, grinder & other 4 issues
!

Dose programming drift or shot volumes inconsistent

Mineral buildup in the flow meters or controller calibration drift. We weigh shot output across ten cycles to confirm the variance, clean or replace the flow meter, and recalibrate dose-per-button through the service interface. If scale keeps causing it, we'll review your water filtration too.

!

Controller fault, display unresponsive, or button failure

First step is reading the full error log through the service interface, which tells us whether the fault sits in the controller board, the user interface module, or the wiring between them. We replace only the failing piece, with boards sourced through the Dalla Corte/Franke parts network.

!

XT real-time weight scale reading incorrectly or not registering

The XT's integrated weight scale is part of what makes the platform distinctive, and calibration drift, dirty load cells, or controller offset are the usual reasons it misreads. We clean the scale platform, re-zero it through the service menu, and recalibrate with reference weights. Failed load cells get a replacement quote before we order anything.

!

Older Evolution-era machines needing discontinued parts

Pre-2015 Dalla Corte machines are still excellent producers, and we keep them running. For parts no longer in production we source through the Dalla Corte/Franke network, salvage from decommissioned units, or fabricate equivalents. When a repair stops making economic sense against a current-generation machine, we tell you straight rather than billing you to find out.

Don't see your issue? Call (289) 217-3796 with a description of what's happening and any error codes on screen. We'll likely diagnose it before we arrive. And if the same fault keeps returning, that's scale at work. The right Dalla Corte water filter ends the repeat visits.

Dalla Corte, held steady

Precise machines are the fussiest about what they drink.

Dalla Corte multi-boiler machines run specialty bars and restaurant groups around the region. The whole point of the build is consistency, and nothing undoes that faster than scale working its way through the boilers. Tap your city.

Who repairs Dalla Corte espresso machines in Toronto?

We do. Grajqevci services Dalla Corte machines for specialty cafes, restaurant groups, and hotels from Hamilton out to Markham, with downtown Toronto the busiest stretch of the route. The coverage list further down this page shows every zone we reach.

How fast can you get to a Dalla Corte that's down mid-service?

Call before mid-morning and a technician usually arrives the same day; later calls book for the next business day. Tell us the model and the symptom when you book, and the likely parts ride out on the first truck. A cafe with a dead two-group at opening gets moved up the route.

Are you an authorized Dalla Corte service centre?

No, and we say that plainly. We're an independent commercial coffee equipment specialist, which means no manufacturer program deciding which machines deserve attention. It also means we'll happily work on a ten-year-old Evo2 the official channel has moved past.

What does it mean that Dalla Corte machines have independent group boilers?

Every group has its own brew boiler, heating element, temperature sensor, and PID controller, instead of sharing one big boiler. For you it means each group can run its own temperature for different coffees. For service it means a temperature fault usually lives in one group, which makes diagnosis faster and keeps the rest of the machine pouring while we work.

One group on my Dalla Corte is running cold. Do I need to shut the machine down?

No. The groups are separate enough that a cold group can sit idle while the others keep serving. Lock out the affected group, keep pouring on the rest, and book the repair. We'll test that group's sensor, PID, and element and replace the one that failed.

Do you repair the XT's built-in weight scale?

Yes, the real-time scale is part of the platform and we treat it as standard work. Most weight faults are calibration drift or dirty load cells, which we fix with a clean, a re-zero, and reference-weight recalibration. A genuinely failed load cell is a quoted part swap, not a reason to bench the machine.

Can you fix the flow profiling on a Mina or XT Barista?

Yes. The manual flow regulator is a needle valve, and scale or seat wear makes it stick or meter unevenly. We strip it, clean the needle and seat, fit a new seal kit, and verify smooth modulation across the range. If your shots stopped responding to the lever, that's the usual story.

What is the Milk Control System, and what goes wrong with it?

MCS is Dalla Corte's automated milk texturing option on machines like the XT. The usual faults are temperature probe drift and milk residue working into places it shouldn't, both of which show up as foam that no longer matches the preset. We test the probe, deep-clean the milk path, and verify each preset before leaving.

My Zero Plus stopped reporting to the fleet console. Can you fix connectivity issues?

Yes. Connectivity faults usually trace to network configuration, the machine's connection module, or the cloud account binding rather than the espresso side. We work through all three and confirm telemetry is flowing again before we leave.

Where do you get Dalla Corte parts in Canada?

Through the Dalla Corte/Franke parts network, which strengthened noticeably after Franke took its majority stake in 2019. Common wear parts, gaskets, cartridges, seals, and probes, travel with the technician. Boards and load cells are ordered per job, with a lead time we confirm before booking the fix.

How often should a Dalla Corte be descaled?

More often than a single-boiler machine of the same size, because every group boiler scales on its own schedule. On moderately hard water a busy bar should plan on a full multi-boiler descale every 3 to 4 months, harder supplies closer to 2 to 3. We check scale condition on every visit and tell you what your water is actually doing.

Why does my Dalla Corte pull different shots on different groups?

Because each group is its own little machine, the groups can genuinely disagree: PID drift on one boiler, a tired flow meter, or a sticking regulator will split them. We measure temperature and pressure at every group, then bring the outlier back to spec. If the grinders are part of the story, we'll say so.

Is a 15-year-old Dalla Corte still worth repairing?

Usually, yes. These machines are built to a 12-to-15-year service life and plenty go past it with honest upkeep. Parts for pre-2015 machines take more sourcing work, through the Franke network, donor units, or fabricated equivalents, and when a repair stops making financial sense we tell you instead of billing you to find out.

Do you work on the original Zero now that the Zero Plus has replaced it?

Yes, fully. The original Zero shares the same per-group boiler architecture and most of the same service vocabulary as the rest of the range. Being superseded at the catalogue level changes nothing at the bench, and many specialty cafes are still running theirs daily.

What does a Dalla Corte repair visit cost?

A flat rate for the visit and diagnosis, which you hear when you book, with parts billed at cost on top. Bigger jobs, a pump, a board, a boiler rebuild, get a written quote on-site before any work starts. No surprises at invoice time.

Can you service the Steam Maestro automatic wand on the Icon?

Yes. Auto-steam faults usually come down to the solenoid or the temperature probe, and both are testable at the machine. We replace whichever has failed and verify the Cappuccino, Flat White, and Hot Milk presets texture correctly with your milk before we sign off.

Do you repair Dalla Corte machines on-site or take them to a shop?

On-site for almost everything: group boiler work, regulators, steam valves, electronics, and calibration all happen at your counter. A full rebuild or severe water damage belongs on a bench, and if your machine is one of those rare cases, we'll say so before it leaves the building.

We're opening a cafe. Is a Dalla Corte hard to get serviced locally?

No, but it's the right question to ask before buying a premium machine. We work on the range regularly, stock the common wear parts, and hold the diagnostic access the platform needs. The architecture is service-friendly once you know it; the trick is using people who do.

Can one visit cover the espresso machine and the rest of our coffee equipment?

Yes, and it's the cheapest way to run a bar. One booking can cover the Dalla Corte, the grinders, and the brewer, with one report at the end. Multi-machine patterns also surface water problems faster, because three machines scaling at once is never coincidence.

About Dalla Corte

Reviewed August 2026

Dalla Corte, in brief.

Dalla Corte is a family-led Italian manufacturer of commercial espresso machines, founded in Milan in 2001 by Paolo, Elsa, and Bruno Dalla Corte. The whole lineup is built around one idea: an independent brew boiler for every group.

Milanese origin, deep coffee industry lineage

Dalla Corte was founded in 2001 by Paolo, Elsa, and Bruno Dalla Corte in Baranzate, just outside Milan. Bruno Dalla Corte (1929-2014) began his coffee-machine career at Cimbali in 1947 and went on to play a role in the development of the legendary Faema E61 group head in the 1960s, the most influential single component in the history of commercial espresso. The family business is, in a real sense, an extension of that engineering lineage.

Brand-wide independent group boiler architecture

From the very first machine, Dalla Corte committed to an independent brew boiler per group across the entire lineup. Each group has its own boiler, its own PID, its own element, and its own temperature target. This is unusual in the Italian commercial espresso industry, where most manufacturers offer a multi-boiler tier alongside a saturated-group single-boiler tier. With Dalla Corte, every machine is multi-boiler by design.

Franke partnership

In 2019, Swiss commercial coffee equipment company Franke Group acquired a majority stake in Dalla Corte. The two companies continue to operate independently: Dalla Corte still builds traditional portafilter machines in Baranzate under the family's direction, while the deal gives Franke a traditional espresso line alongside its super-automatic portfolio. Parts supply and engineering support have strengthened since the acquisition.

Current lineup: Mina, XT, Zero Plus, Evo2, Icon, Studio, Studio Aqua

The Mina is a single-group machine that introduced manual flow profiling on the Dalla Corte platform. XT Barista and XT Classic share the multi-group flagship chassis, with manual flow regulation on Barista and programmable presets on Classic. Zero Plus Barista and Zero Plus Classic are the current specialty flagship platforms, while original Zero is now treated as the legacy predecessor. Evo2 is the workhorse, Icon targets high-turnover hospitality, and Studio / Studio Aqua cover compact one-group specialty installs. Dalla Corte also offers integrated DC One and DC Two grinders that pair with the machine ecosystem.

Why Dalla Corte machines need specialist service

Independent boiler per group means three groups have three separate boiler systems to diagnose. The PID architecture is Dalla Corte-specific and requires service-menu access to recalibrate properly. Manual flow regulation on the XT and Mina uses precision needle-valve components that aren't familiar to generalist techs. We service the full Dalla Corte platform with the diagnostic interface, parts, and Italian-language service documentation.
