The Slim Jim takes the Spirit's per-group brew boilers and fits them into a frame slim enough for a tight bar. Each group gets a dedicated 0.8L PID-controlled coffee boiler, fed through a thermo-siphon heat exchanger inside the shared 10.5L steam boiler, with 316L stainless throughout. Cafes choose it when the footprint is fixed and the standards aren't. On the bench it behaves like a Spirit wearing the Mirage's looks, and it wears in the same places: gaskets, bushings, and scale.

Paddle linkages catch when their PTFE bushings wear. Fresh bushings and lubrication restore the full smooth throw.
Scale builds on dispersion screens until extraction goes uneven. We pull them annually, soak, inspect, and replace as needed.

Each group has its own 0.8L PID-controlled brew boiler, so one can drift while the other holds. Scale, a tired NTC sensor, or PID offset are the usual reasons. We test the affected circuit, descale, recalibrate, and replace what's out of spec.
A thermo-siphon heat exchanger inside the 10.5L steam boiler pre-conditions the feed water, then each group's dedicated 0.8L boiler brings it to its exact setpoint. It's the Spirit's thermal approach in a slimmer frame. For service, that means brew and steam faults stay neatly separated.
Scale in the steam boiler is the usual culprit: it insulates the element and chokes output. We descale, test the element's resistance, and replace it if it draws below spec. The level probe and sight glass get cleaned in the same visit.
It has the Mirage's signature looks, but the thermal system is borrowed from the Spirit: a dedicated PID-controlled brew boiler per group fed through a heat exchanger in the steam boiler. Cosmetically a Mirage, thermally a Spirit. Service-wise we treat it as its own platform with familiar parts.
Worn PTFE bushings or coffee fines in the pivot. We disassemble, replace the bushings, clean and lubricate, and confirm the throw is smooth from pre-infusion into brew.
Nine bar at the portafilter under load. If it won't hold there, the rotary pump is wearing or the OPV has drifted. We measure with a calibrated gauge, adjust the OPV, and replace the pump only when the numbers say so.
The boiler manifold, the brass fittings, and the drain routing, in that order of suspicion. We pressure-test, dry the chassis, and dye-trace so we fix the actual leak instead of the most visible one. Panels go back on with their original screws and seals.
