Do you actually service Fetco batch brewers across the GTA?
Yes. Fetco is one of the brewers we work on most, in hotels, corporate offices, restaurants, and high-volume catering kitchens. There's usually a CBS or a thermal-dispenser unit on our schedule somewhere in the region, so you are not waiting on a specialist to be flown in.
Are you authorized by Fetco?
No, and we say so plainly. We are an independent commercial coffee equipment specialist, which lets us work on out-of-warranty machines, keep older CBS and HWB units running after the dealer network moves on, and quote against the actual job instead of a manufacturer price book.
Why does my Fetco heating element keep failing?
On unfiltered local water it is almost always scale. Mineral buildup insulates the element, drives it to overheat, and eventually trips the protection or burns it out. We replace the element, but we also descale the tank and push for a softener upstream, otherwise the new element heads the same way.
What is the most common Fetco service call you get?
Brew temperature drifting low and descale alerts that will not quit, both rooted in scale. After that it is sprayhead scaling, worn brew or bypass valves, and on the touchscreen models, frozen displays. None of it is exotic; it is the predictable wear of a machine pouring gallons a day on hard water.
How fast can you get to a Fetco that is down?
Same-day when you call in the morning, with later calls usually booked for the next business day. Tell us the model and the fault when you book and the van leaves with the likely parts already loaded. A restaurant or hotel with no coffee gets moved up the route.
What does a Fetco repair cost?
The visit and diagnosis are a flat rate you hear when you book, so there is no meter running while we find the fault. Parts are billed on top and depend on the job: a sprayhead or a seal kit is minor, a controller board or element is not. You get the full number before any larger work starts.
What Fetco parts do you carry on the truck?
The high-wear items: sprayheads, brew and bypass valves, diaphragms and seat kits, level and temperature probes, inlet solenoids, thermostats, and LUXUS seal kits. That covers the majority of calls in one trip. Controller boards, elements, and displays are ordered per job, usually within a business day or two.
Can you handle a fleet of Fetco brewers across multiple QSR or restaurant sites?
Yes, multi-site fleet work is routine. We can run a single visit across several locations, keep a parts profile for your standard models, and flag the pattern when the same fault shows up across the fleet, which usually points at water or routine rather than the machines.
Do you offer emergency service for restaurants when the coffee goes down?
We prioritise true breakdowns where a venue has no coffee service. Evening and weekend slots exist for exactly that, arranged case by case when you book. Tell us your service hours and we will find the window that costs you the least trade.
How often should a Fetco batch brewer be serviced?
For a machine pouring near its rated volume on hard local water, a descale and full check every three to four months keeps it honest, with sprayhead and valve service folded in. Lighter-volume offices can stretch that. The real driver is water hardness, not the calendar.
Do I have to sign a maintenance contract to get service?
No. We work call by call, and plenty of customers only put us on a schedule after they have seen the work. If a planned-service interval makes sense for your volume we will suggest it, but it is never a condition of us showing up.
Can you sort out water filtration for a high-volume Fetco setup?
Yes, and on most high-volume installs it is the single best thing you can do. We assess the supply hardness, size a softener or scale-reduction cartridge to your brew volume, and fit it ahead of the brewer so scale stops eating elements and sprayheads.
Can you still service older or discontinued Fetco models?
Usually, yes. Sprayheads, valves, elements, and most thermostats are still available for older CBS and HWB units, and for obsolete controllers we source from refurbisher stock or upgrade to a current CBS board that keeps your existing brew hardware. If a repair stops making financial sense, we tell you.
When does replacing a Fetco make more sense than repairing it?
When the cost of the fix approaches the price of a new machine, or when a vacuum chamber, tank, or controller has failed on a unit already well past its service life. Most of what fails, the seals, valves, probes, and elements, is a fraction of replacement cost, so repair usually wins. You get the math and make the call.
My Fetco is still under manufacturer warranty. Can you work on it?
We can, but if the fault is genuinely covered, use the warranty and we will tell you so on the phone. Much of what actually goes wrong, scale damage, worn consumables, water issues, sits outside most coverage, and that is the work we take on.
Can you recalibrate the brew temperature and strength on our Fetco?
Yes. We verify brew temperature at the sprayhead against spec and reset the bypass split that controls strength through the service menu, then dial the profile to your coffee instead of leaving it on factory defaults. On the NG and XTS models we back up your recipes before touching anything.
The touchscreen on our NG brewer is frozen. Does it need replacing?
Usually not. Most frozen Fetco screens are a firmware hang that clears with a controlled reboot and, if needed, a reflash. A genuinely failed digitizer does happen, and then the display is a routine part swap rather than a reason to write off the machine. We test which it is before quoting.
Do the NG brewers' cloud and remote-monitoring features need special service?
The connectivity is straightforward to support. When remote monitoring drops out it is usually network credentials or the connectivity module, not the brewer itself. We confirm the credentials, reset or replace the module, and get the unit reporting again.
Do you service the LUXUS dispensers and TBS tea brewers too, or just the coffee brewers?
All of it. We rebuild LUXUS dispenser valves and gaskets, pressure-test their vacuum chambers, and recalibrate the brew-and-dilute ratio on TBS tea brewers when the tea starts tasting wrong. The dispensers and tea units fail in their own ways, and we carry the seal kits for them.
Will you show our staff how to keep the brewer running between visits?
Yes, by default before we leave. A good share of repeat faults trace back to skipped daily cleaning or the wrong descale routine, so the technician walks your team through the sprayhead rinse, the cleaning cycle, and what the alerts actually mean.
